Jean Shaffer is a career management consultant with over twenty years experience designing and conducting career and professional development programs. She is a consultant with Blended Learning Team, LLC, a Career Services Firm. For over ten years she has coached clients in career transition and has been a pioneer in the delivery of career transition services in a virtual environment since 2001. She has been affiliated with one of the top global career management firms since 2000.
Prior to managing her own consulting firm, Jean managed a training and development department for a regional bank and worked in management development for a national healthcare organization. As an independent consultant, she designed coaching and team building programs for a government agency.
As a career coach she has worked with clients from a broad range of occupations in various industries, including High Technology, Financial Services & Banking; Telecommunications; Healthcare, Manufacturing; Energy, Oil, Gas & Utilities; Automotive & Engineering; Biotech & Pharmaceutical; Retail; Insurance; and Agriculture.
She spearheaded the launch of webinars on targeting new industries and changing careers to address clients’ job search challenges in the current economic downturn, and participated in the design and launch of a webinar on the social networking site, LinkedIn. She also coaches clients who are considering self-employment.
Jean is passionate about helping Baby Boomers get excited about the final stage of their careers and future. Her new webinar, Career Strategies 2020, provides a practical process that complements pre-retirement planning and provides a roadmap to ensure that Boomers are proactive in assessing their current and future risks, and identifying realistic and inspiring career options.
She holds a BS in Human Resource Development from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. She is an MBTI Qualified Assessor and a Certified Job and Career Transition Coach.
